First African-American WAVES Officers

LTJG Harriet Ida Pickens and ENS Frances Wills were members of the final graduating class at Naval Reserve Midshipmen’s School (WR) in Northampton, Massachusetts, and the first African-American WAVES to be commissioned. December 1944.
