WWII Navy Nurse LT(JG) Goldie Aimee O’Haver
Lieutenant Junior Grade Goldie Aimee O’Haver, NC, USNR, who was one of the eleven U.S. Navy Nurse Prisoners of War in the Philippines from 1942-45. O’Haver graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital, School of Nursing, at Ottumwa, Iowa, 1929 and entered Naval Service on December 17, 1929. She was transferred to Guam on October 31, 1940, then transferred to Manila, Philippines, on November 5, 1940. She was awarded the Bronze Star for her actions in caring for the sick and wounded while in the hands of the enemy.
