Navy Nurse Passing By Base Chapel

Ensign Estelle Sauk (Nurse Corps) U.S. Naval Reserve, passes the Chapel on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, Virginia, on her way from the Main building of the hospital, where she is assigned to duty as head nurse of a surgical ward, to the Nurses’ Quarters. Ensign Sauk, a graduate of the School of Nursing of the Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, New York, is a native of Clarksburg, New York. In the Chapel, where Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish services are held, Navy Nurses worship, help arrange the flowers and linens of the Altars, and sing in the choirs.
