Woman Marine Recruits Arrive on Troop Train

Brigadier General Henry L. Larsen, commander of Camp Lejeune, was on hand to greet a troop train of women Marine recruits as it rolled into the famed Leatherneck base where women Marines will now be trained. He is shown shaking hands with Mrs. Dawn Steele – Private Steele now – of Arcadia, Kansas. Mrs. Steele has a son, Louis, who is a Marine.
