First WAACs Arrive in Great Britain
The first contingent of Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) officers and enlisted women arrive in Great Britain, and are greeted by the pipe band of the 7th Battalion Scottish Home Guard, waiting on the dock in Gourock, Scotland. 11 May 1943
