Three Navy Nurses at Pearl Harbor Naval Hospital
The Carey sisters of Boulder, Montana, have arrived to care for the marines and sailors wounded in the Pacific battle area. The young women are shown in front of the nurses’ quarters at the large naval hospital which overlooks Pearl Harbor. The sisters are graduates of St. James Hospital, Butte, Montana, and entered the Navy Nurse Corps in August 1943. They had naval hospital duties at Mare Island and Corona, California, before coming overseas. Left to right: LTJG Agnes Carey NC USNR, LTJG Josephine Carey NC USNR, and LTJG Lillian Carey NC, USNR.
