Recruiting posters abounded during World War II, including those designed to entice women to join. Thousands of these posters were created by famous magazine illustrators of the time, including John Falter, Charles Andres, and McClelland Barclay, among others. Recruiting posters were placed in countless public locations across the country, including post offices, libraries, grocery and department stores, on billboards and even in public restrooms. Shown here and on subsequent pages are some of the more popular and eye-catching posters created for the war.
