Navy Nurses Christen Hospital Ship USS Mercy

Lieutenant (junior grade) Doris M. Yetter, Navy nurse, christens the USS Mercy, hospital ship launched at the Consolidated Steel Corporation’s shipyards, Wilmington, California, 03/25/1943. At right is Lieutenant (junior grade) Lorraine Christensen. Both nurses saw the fall of Guam Island and were captured by the Japanese.
