Marine Second Lieutenant John F. Larkin, who was shot in the stomach while clearing a mine field in the front of the American lines in Okinawa, is under the care of Second Lieutenant Susie E. Sumner, one of the first nurses to land on Okinawa, in an army field hospital. Photographed in May 1945.
