Swearing In of Six WAC Officers during WWII

Six WAC female officers are sworn into the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) by Captain E. D. Keith (post adjutant) with post commander, Colonel Welton M. Modisette, at Camp Atterbury, Indiana during World War II. The six officers (from left to right) are Captain Elizabeth A. Wilbern and Lieutenants Mary L. Porter, Mildred Peterson, Sarah E. Murphy, Jeanne G. Childs, and Camille F. Thomas. 27 August 1943.
